Donation & Refund Policy

1. Overview
Ukrainian Diaspora (Switzerland) (Verein) is a registered non-profit association based in Zürich, Switzerland. We gratefully accept voluntary donations to support our humanitarian, educational and cultural programs. This Donation & Refund Policy explains how donations are processed, when refunds may be issued, and how to request a refund.
2. Accepted Payment Methods
We accept donations via the following payment methods (where available):
- Credit / Debit Cards via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.)
- UnionPay
- Alipay and WeChat Pay (for donors in China and regions where these methods are supported)
- Bank transfer to our Swiss account (IBAN): CH50 0900 0000 1653 2245 7 — Ukrainian Diaspora
All online card payments are processed by our payment partners (e.g., Stripe). We do not store full card details on our servers. Transactions are encrypted and processed in compliance with PCI-DSS standards.
3. Donation Nature
Donations made to Ukrainian Diaspora (Switzerland) are voluntary and, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are considered final and non-refundable. Donations are used exclusively for charitable purposes in line with the organization’s mission.
4. When Refunds Are Possible
We will consider refunds only in the following limited circumstances:
- Duplicate payments (duplicate charges resulting from accidental repeated submission);
- Technical or processing errors resulting in incorrect or unintended charges;
- Cases of proven fraud or unauthorized transactions processed through our platform;
- Error on the part of Ukrainian Diaspora (Switzerland) in processing the donation.
Requests for refunds based on other reasons will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may be declined.
5. Refund Request Procedure
- Please submit refund requests within 14 days from the date of the transaction to: finance@ukrdiaspora.ch. In your email include the donor name, transaction date, amount, payment method, and a copy/screenshot of the payment confirmation.
- We will acknowledge receipt of your request within 5 business days and investigate the matter.
- If a refund is approved, we will process the refund using the original payment method whenever possible. Refund timelines depend on the payment provider and the donor’s bank.
6. Refund Timing & Fees
Approved refunds are generally processed within 7–30 business days, depending on the payment method and banks involved. Any processing fees charged by payment providers or banks may be non-recoverable; if applicable, Ukrainian Diaspora (Switzerland) will inform the donor whether fees will be deducted from the refund amount.
7. Bank Transfers & Large Donations
For donations made by bank transfer (IBAN above) or large corporate gifts, please contact finance@ukrdiaspora.ch to confirm details. Refunds for bank transfers can only be made to the originating bank account and may require additional verification.
8. Donors from China and International Payments
For donors using UnionPay, Alipay or WeChat Pay, refunds (if approved) will be processed through the same payment channel where possible. Cross-border processing times and local regulations may affect refund timing. We will coordinate with the payment providers to complete approved refunds.
9. Chargebacks & Disputes
If you dispute a charge through your card issuer or payment provider, we will cooperate with the payment processor to resolve the dispute. Note that chargebacks initiated by donors may result in reversal of funds and potential administrative fees. We reserve the right to contest unwarranted chargebacks and to request documentation from the donor to support the refund claim.
10. Tax Receipts & Reporting
Receipts or donation confirmations are sent automatically to the donor’s email upon successful payment. For donors requiring official donation certificates or tax documentation (where applicable), please contact finance@ukrdiaspora.ch. Tax deductibility depends on donor jurisdiction and local tax laws.
11. Data Protection & Privacy
Any personal data submitted with a donation is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and relevant data protection laws (GDPR and Swiss FADP/revDSG). Payment details are processed by third-party payment providers and are subject to the providers’ privacy and security practices.
